Miami Beach Police confirmed the arrest on Twitter. Local media reports said the pop star, 19, had just left a club on Lincoln Road, was pulled over for speeding and failed a field sobriety test.
A source close to Bieber tells us "He is in custody. There had been another car pulled over in front of him."
The source also adds, "Not clear if it was for drag racing."
Bieber was driving a rented Lamborghini at the time, police sources told NBC 6 South Florida. No other details were known.
Bieber has been in Miami all week. Police in Opa-Locka, Fla., are investigating events from Monday, when Bieber and some friends received a police escort during a night out, which included a visit to a strip club.
The singer is also under investigation for allegedly throwing eggs at a neighbor's home in Los Angeles several weeks ago.
